In They say, I say chapter 3 The Art of Quoting can teach many valuable tips. Throughout the chapter many helpful insights on quoting can help me in various papers that I will write in college. This chapter explains framing and quotations and how not to leave a “dangling” quotation. This section also shows why writers need to introduce their quotation and to give a good explanation on what it means and how it connects to their writing. This chapter explains why it is good to give a clear and meaningful explanation while using quotes. This chapter also helped me to look for unclear and dangling ones that I can fix. In this chapter of They say, I say is very beneficial to any paper that has to deal with quotations. It showed me to give full and meaningful explanations to my quotes and how to look for ones to correct. This skill I learned will not only help me write my paper better but help me grow as a writer overall. In some of my past experiences with quotations I have struggled, I was always too worried about repeating myself and sounding like an unseasoned writer. This chapter has gave me a clear approach on how to introduce quotes and how to give them greater detail. In chapter 3 it shows not only how to quote the right way it also shows the wrong way to quote witch I think is very beneficial because I learn best If I see the wrong way to do something as well. Overall this chapter is very beneficial to me as a writer overall, It has shown me tips to become a better writer in general.
